Now BSNL GPRS tariff has no rental or registration charges for excel prepaid connections.  BSNL charges as per the usage Rs 0.05 per 10KB. The BSNL GPRS Roaming charges is also the same.

Here is how you can activitate GPRS BSNL settings for prepaid mobile.

First, you need to call 9400024365 or SMS   GPRSPRE-BSNL MOBILE to 53733 to automatically activate the BSNL GPRS  or you can activitate manually according to your zone. Here you can find are settings for these zones: East Zone, West Zone, North Zone, South Zone.

Second, you will receive a confirmation SMS that your BSNL GPRS is  activated.

Third, you need to configure your model model. To do that send SMS your mobile phone model to 8355. Example Nokia E75.

With these steps, your bsnl prepaid mobile can access internet using GPRS.

However all the other mobile phone manufacturers have 16 digit IMEI. So if your IMEI is a 15 digit number, then it is time to go for a new mobile phone. Even when you buy a second hand mobile phone, check it out.  Now the question you may have now is: how can I know IMEI? Just type *#06# in your mobile and you will get the IMEI number.

BSNL  3G services for your mobile is now available. BSNL  3G will be available in select cities: Ambala, Agara, Dehradun, Jammu, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Lucknow, Shimla, Patna, Ranchi, Haldia and Durgapur.

In order to get the BSNL 3G connection, you need to register using  the online BSNL 3G application form in the bsnl website.  To complete the registration process you need to give a BSNL telephone or a working BSNL number  or need to mention the nearest  available BSNL  phone number.
BSNL offers various packages, charges or tariffs  for BSNL 3G services. You can check out the BSNL 3G Tariff here.  BSNL also offers a  trail pack for 15 days. BSNL 3G has both prepaid and postpaid connection option with voice plan and data plan etc.
With BSNL 3G in your mobile you can make video calls, surf the net, watch live tv, download movies, download music and do online business on your go.

As I am getting more visitors  and enquires from other states as well, I have compiled the links to check the names in electoral rolls throughout India.

Many of the states Election commission offices now have placed the latest electoral rolls in their respective websites. Some of the states have the option to search by name and constituency. While for some states you have to download the electoral rolls in PDF format and check your name. Most of the states electoral rolls are available in English and respective state languages. Some states also have uploaded the EPIC voters photo id card. In some states voters  can now make online registration for new voters id card.

The main website of Election commission of India have all the details related to Voters id registration and other election related information.Election Commission of India site has a voters id search engine, but not fully functional. So it is better to check your name in the respective state election office websites.

Are you struggling to find  available berths in train at IRCTC Indian Railway website? At IRCTC, you have to search for a specific day. So to find on which day the ticket is available is little difficult.However, IRCTC gives the option of finding the availability for next seven days.

Do you want to know the availability of berths for the next 90 days ticket in any train of any route ? Then go to Cleartrip train availability calendar. To find the available berths enter your stations and select any 15 days segment of 90 days and  class of travel. You could see all the available seats and you can click it and book the ticket at Cleartrip. You can get the current availability of seats by refreshing. Even if you don’t see anything, just refresh to see the status.

At another site of Indian railways,  check weekly availability of train tickets from major station for all classes here.  You can check vacant berth for current date for the following trains even after departure of the train here.

Every time you have to make the payment, go to this site and enter your SBI credit card number and the amount to be paid and select the bank to make the payment . Confirm your payment at your bank site and it will be confirmed and a receipt can be printed for future use. Please remember that it will take atleast three days to credit your amount. So don’t wait for the last day to make the payment to avoid late fee.

If you have net banking accounts with State Bank of India group banks such as State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, State Bank of Hyderabad, State Bank of Indore, State Bank of Patiala, State Bank of Travancore & State Bank of Mysore you can make direct payments of your SBI credit card dues though your net banking accounts.

Credit cards are now widely used for various transactions. So the credit to be lost or stolen is becoming common. Unless you are extra cautious a lost or stolen credit card can bring you heavy loss. Basically all the credit card companies hold the credit card holder responsible for all the transactions and you will be reponsible for all the credit card payments, if someone misuses your credit card.

Here are some of the information you need to know if you lost your credit card. Various credit card companies different rules regarding the lost or stolen cards.

HSBC  Platinum, Gold, Classic credits credit cards offer Zero lost Laibility. Here is  the condition

Credit cardholders have zero lost-credit card liability after the loss of the credit card has been reported to the Bank in writing or to the VISA / MasterCard Global Emergency Assistance Helplines. However, you will be liable for all charges incurred on your credit card before you report the loss of your credit card.

Standard Chartered Bank and ABN ABRO  bank offers insurance protection for the libilaites of the lost card, however you have to pay the premium for the insurance. Citi Bank Credit cards, SBI credit cards also gives insurance protection. For most cards, the insurance for liabilites upto Rs. 1 Lakh, the premium is Rs.100 per month.

ICICI credit cards also offer zero liability but the credit card holder should contact the customer care but is liable for the payments before the reporting.

For the all credit cards the process to complaint or report a lost of stolen credit card is the following.

First,Call the customer care centres of your credit card bank and inform the lost. Or you can also report to Visa card or Master card emergency numbers given below. Please record and keep the time and date of your call etc for future reference.

Second,Report the lost of your credit card at the nearest police station. Get an FIR.

Third, With the FIR, send a fax or lettter to the credit card company bank again.

Keep all the records for future use like credit card number, time it was lost, place, Date and time complained etc.

Incase if banks don’t help, you can contact the  Reserve Bank of India for help.

The key thing to remember is to keep the credit card safe to avoid all the hassles and tension.

Passport Office work on all weekdays from 9.30 am -5.00 pm. Saturday is holiday.
